17 January 2012 [13:12] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijan and Georgia should expand cooperation in mutual recognition of place names. It was mentioned at a meeting between the Azerbaijani State Standardization, Metrology and Patents Committee Chairman Ramiz Hasanov and Georgian National Intellectual Property Center Chairman ("Sakpatenti") Irakli Gvaladze and Deputy Chairman Ekaterine Egutia.

Hasanov stressed the need for boosting cooperation with Georgia in mutual recognition and protection of traditional brands, trade marks and place names, the State Committee told Trend on Monday.

He said in this regard it is reasonable to prepare a bilateral agreement. Gvaladze, in turn, expressed his satisfaction with the development of the patent system in Azerbaijan and importance of mutual cooperation in this sphere.
