Azerbaijan joins conference on low-carbon economy

Representatives of the Azerbaijan Turkey Business Association (ATBA) attended an international conference titled “Competitiveness in a low carbon economy prospects for 2012 and beyond” in Istanbul.

The conference co-organized by the Union of Black Sea & Caspian Confederation of Enterprises (UBCCE) and Turkish Industry and Business Association (TUSIAD) was attended by representatives from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Germany and other countries.

The final report on Green Business Support Strategy for UBCCE was presented in the event. The Report on Green Business Strategy for Azerbaijan`s private sector organizations developed by ATBA also was presented in the conference.

The overall goal of the project is the elaboration of a business strategy that helps private sector associations and enterprises to respond to the multiple challenges and opportunities of climate change in an efficient and proactive manner. The strategy will give orientation to the business sector and address information needs, management issues, business opportunities, technology transfer and cooperation with a special focus on green business, climate-friendly technologies, and energy and resource efficiency.
