NATO is holding discussions with Azerbaijan in the defense sector, democratic reforms and the preparation of military doctrine, U.S. representative to NATO Jennifer Davis told media in Baku.
Another topic of talks between NATO and Azerbaijan is cooperation in the field of democracy.
"We have close cooperation with Azerbaijan. One of the main goals is to create stable democracy that will lead to security in the region", Davis said.
Azerbaijan has already increased its contingent in NATO from 45 to 90 soldiers. Moreover, we continue the political dialogue, Davis said. The more countries will contribute to solving the issues in Afghanistan, the better results for the region, she said.
NATO has no problems with the provision of Azerbaijan with air corridor for delivery of goods to Afghanistan, Davis said. "Currently, we have no problems on this issue. It demonstrates the level of our cooperation with Azerbaijan", the U.S. representative to the alliance said. / Trend News/
