"There is no common South Caucasus information field", said director of the news program of the Yerkir-Media TV company Gegam Manukyan in the Novosti international press center.
"There is no common information field and there is a war between mass medias and politicians both in Georgia and in Armenia and Azerbaijan", said Manukyan as a video bridge Yerevan-Tbilisi on : "Information field of the Caucasus: current state and possible prospects".
The expert considers that the situation is that the region has two fronts, including Armenia on the one hand and a coalition of mass medias of Georgia and Azerbaijan on the other hand.
He said this is proven by the fact that some unreliable information spread in Azerbaijani mass media is actively disseminated by Georgian mass medias, as well as the coverage of the situation in Javakheti and the situation with the church of Saint Norashen in Tbilisi.
"The participation of a third Party which Russia is considered by Georgia to be should not be traced in the information wars in the region, as it is mostly a result of internal decisions, including of politicians, that influence mass medias" said Manukyan.
At the same time the owner and president of Mediaholding Times Malkhaz Gulashvili, ethnic and other conflicts in the region are provoked by the thied countries, that influence international relations.
"There is a sort of a negative mood towards Georgia in Armenian press while we should be responsible for our activity as information war is not important either for Armenia or Georgia", said Gulashvili.
In this aspect he stated the need to develop joint mechanisms of cooperation to establish atmosphere of dialogue and cooperation between the mass medias of the two countries.
