Resident of Nardaran village Hikmet Veliyev, active participant of the recent anti-Israeli action in this village, was detained late February 2.
According to local residents, who wished to remain unknown, the operative services detained Veliyev in his house. The family members were not given any explanations. It is also unclear where veliyev is now held and which structure detained him.
The attempts to get comments in the Sabunchi district police station and 14th department, controlling Nardaran, failed. They said they do not have information about detention of Nardaran village resident BVeliyev.
Local residents propose that he was detained due to his participation in the organization of protests in January of this year against Israel's action in Gaza.
Earlier on January 24, officials of the head department of combat with organized crime arrested resident Ali Huseynov, against whom the Sabunchi district prosecutor's office instituted a criminal case under article 134 (threat of murder and severe damage to health). Thus, Huseynov is charged with the appeals to kill deputy Sabir Rustamkhanly, as said in a statement of the representatives of the press service of the Interior Ministry and Prosecutor General's office.
On January 9 at the meeting in Nardaran village Huseynov recommended to deputy Sabir Rustamkhanly to have bodyguards, as fatwa on his death is issued. As is reported, Nardaran's anger is caused by Rustamkhanly to give interview to Seher Tv channel.
Nardaran residents consider it unfair that Huseynov and Veliyev were detained and intend to start actions to release him, according to one of the wise men of the settlement.
