Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov received US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State on issues of terrorism Frank Urbanchik Thursday.
The press service for the Foreign Ministry told APA that the visitor highly appreciated the contribution of Azerbaijan to international cooperation on war on terror, in particular, its participation in the US anti-terror operations.
Azimov, in turn, noted that war on terror requires joint efforts of the international community. He said terrorist groups are operating conjointly.
According to the Deputy Minister, any terrorist group can pose a threat to the world community, therefore, it is necessary to join efforts to fight it. Araz Azimov noted that such cooperation is of great importance as a country, which suffered from Armenian terror.
He said, terrorism is connected with separatism and extremism, it promotes organized crimes, expands illegal drug trafficking, arms trade and human trafficking, as well as money laundering.
All these events show the necessity to join efforts, Araz Azimov noted. In this sense, Azerbaijan attempts to fight with terror in the framework of international organizations, including OSCE and NATO.
