The US government will allocate additional $1.950 th. for implementation of 5 projects on drug control.

The Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister, Elmar Mammadyarov and the US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Rino Harnish signed the Amendment to the Letter- Agreement dated 3 January 2003 on drug control and the assistance to the law-enforcement activities between the governments of the Azerbaijan Republic and the USA, Trend reports from the press-service of the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry FM).

The US government will render the Azerbaijani government additional help of $1.950 th., depending on the works, fulfilled in regard to the projects implementation and from the annual amount of the US Congress allocation of necessary funds.  $1.435,186 from this amount the USA will allot in favour of the  Azerbaijan's government as a technical assistance and training  through the state agencies. The rest funds the US government will grant in favor of the Azerbaijan's government.

Additional financial means will be allocated for 5 projects:  "Resident-legal adviser", "Resident- adviser on law-enforcement activities", "reforms of the criminal law (lawyer -ccordinator", "People trafficking fighting", "Legal evaluation activities  development. The FM Elmar Mammadyarov underlined, that the document signed is one of the important steps, taken in the direction of the further development of the sustainable strategical alliance  between Azerbaijan and the USA.
