Scientists often cite the first ten years of a child's life as the "window of opportunity". Everything at this time is critical to improve the "wiring" of a person's brain. These are the ages when the brain can form the most neural networks.

Sometimes, parents try to surround their children with unnecessary and undue care without understanding the consequences. Children grow quickly, and we do not always have time to realize that a child is a perfect age to give up some things that hinder his or her development.

1. Dummy after a year

These days, it’s become increasingly common to see children up to four-years-old with dummies plugged firmly in their mouths. But do children of this age really need a dummy?

Dummies are popular as soothers or pacifiers, but only for newborn children who may need it during first unsettled weeks of life. In fact, many parents manage very well without resorting to them and babies will gradually learn to self comfort.

If, however, there is only one way to calm down a child, you can face more serious problems in the future -- gnaw the ends of pens or pencils, and then – smoking.

As is known, a person develops only when he or she is out of the comfort zone.

2. Those comfortable nappies…

Certainly, it would be a bust to urge parents to revive the era of gauze diapers and diaper dermatitis. However, for the development of control functions of the organism it is necessary for the child to feel some inconvenience.

Readiness in bowel and bladder control depends on a child’s physiological maturity.

3. Curved spoons and walkers at all ages

Curved spoons, thanks to which their content falls right into the mouth of the child, are beneficial in terms of saving porridge and soap, but do not contribute to the development of spatial representations. After a child repeatedly misses spoon by mouth, the baby gradually begins to distinguish his or her face.

The same problem occurs when using a walker. Not falling and not being able to feel the elbows and knees, being surrounded by terrain, the child will hardly form a picture of the world.

4. A lot of TV at all ages

Since only lazy do not write about the harm of TV, I will say only that it negatively affects not only with the content of many programs, but also contributes to generating habits of using TV as a constant background noise.

Some children are so accustomed to it that cannot be in silence, what is reflected on their education process and discipline at school.

5. Electronic games without restrictions

Despite the useful effect of many training tablet or phone games, it is often offset by a large amount of time a child spends on the game. Playing without any limit dramatically increases the risk of dependence, resulting in thoughts about the game and its associated effects supersede everything else.
