The process of filing applications to participate in the national selection tour of the "Eurovision Song Contest" held by Azerbaijan Public Television is over.
The Azerbaijan Public Television is the organizer and broadcaster of the contest.
About 119 people applied to participate in the qualifying round. They will perform in the near future. It will be determined who will be admitted to the competition. Then they will compete with each other in the air.
"This whole process will take several months. We will know who will represent Azerbaijan in the Eurovision - 2012 contest," Azerbaijan Public Television official Tahir Mammadov said on Wednesday.
He said the qualifying round this year will be the same as last year. "Our method of selection is similar to the European song contest's," he said.
