Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan Ali Abbasov met with Chief Executive Officer and founder of Stratford George Friedman, who is on a visit to Baku.
Press service of the ministry said that Abbasov said recently, Azerbaijan developed in all spheres and became into a leading state in the region. He noted that great successes had been achieved in communications and information technologies sector too. The minister spoke about state policy pursued in this sphere, wide-scale projects assuming great importance for Azerbaijan and the region.
Friedman said that enhancing of cooperation relations available from viewpoint of future perspectives for on ICT sector, as well as on other spheres of economy. He noted that at present, some US companies specialized in IT sphere carried out new projects in Azerbaijan and American companies would increase efforts in implementation of new investment projects in Azerbaijan. Appreciating transformation of oil incomes into other spheres of economy, the guest said that such step serves as background for dynamical development in all spheres.
Friedman noted that he would participate in the next forum to be held in Los-Angeles in May of this year.
In turn, Abbasov invited the guest to BakuTel 2011 - Azerbaijan International Telecommunications and Information Technologies Exhibition and Conference to be held in Baku in November, 2011.
