As many as 40, 205 people have been registered as unemployed in Azerbaijan as of June 1, 2010, Azerbaijan State Statistics Committee said.
In January, jobless rate declined by 302 people and totaled 40,507 in early May. The number of unemployed was 41,100 in early 2010. So, the number of jobless individuals has dropped by 895 people since the beginning of the year.
In May, the unemployment benefits averaged 161 manat as compared to 176 manat in 2009.
Women account for about 43.5% of the unemployed as of June. As many as 44,481 people were registered as jobless in Azerbaijan as of January 1, 2009.
