The Azerbaijani government intends to encourage the participation of Azerbaijani business in the economy of Georgia and Georgian business people in the economy of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev said in Tbilisi today.
"There is a real basis for closer cooperation between the Azeri and Georgian businesses.
We implement global projects to deliver oil products to Europe, as well as the construction of the railway. There is need for business in a bilateral level. Initial steps are taken in this direction and Azerbaijani business is represented in Georgia," Mustafayev said.
This statement was made after the business forum with participation of Georgian and Azerbaijani businessmen. About 23 Azerbaijani companies arrived in Tbilisi to establish contacts with their Georgian colleagues.
Mustafayev said that Azerbaijani investments are made in communications, finance, banking, construction and service in Georgia.
"There are prospects for further development of bilateral economic activity", minister said.
Georgian Minister of Economy Zurab Pololikashvili said that one of the promising areas of cooperation can be joint projects in tourism.
"The work is conducted in this direction. We expect the first results soon", Pololikashvili said.
