Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev received member of the German Bundestag, and general chairman of the World Council for Renewable Energy Hermann Scheer on April 6.
Mr. Scheer praised Azerbaijan's economic development.
He said the country had great potential in energy sphere. Mr. Scheer said President Ilham Aliyev placed a particular emphasis on effective use of renewable energy. He noted, that Azerbaijan is one of the countries attaching priority to the issue of renewable energy, adding he arrived in the country to familiarize himself with what has been here and what are the possibilities.
President Ilham Aliyev said all fields of economy are developing in Azerbaijan.
The President said Azerbaijan`s "successful energy policy" created strong basis to ensure long-term energy security of the country.
President Ilham Aliyev said, that Azerbaijan attaches a particular emphasis on creating alternative energy sources, adding the country was open to cooperate with leading world countries.
