The commodity turnover between Ukraine and Azerbaijan made $705 mln through 8 months of 2008, said Ukrainian ambassador to Azerbaijan Boris Klimchuk at a press conference today.
He noted that the commodity turnover grew 55-60%.
He said by the end of the year the volume of the commodity turnover will reach $1 bln.
"Crisis made Ukrainian businessmen view markets, about which they have forgotten. Today Ukrainian businessmen started to come to Baku and I establish their contacts with Azerbaijani entrepreneurs", said he.
The ambassador noted that a contract has already been signed on the purchase of grain by Azerbaijan and in the near future Azerbaijan will receive 100,000 tons of this production.
