The retail trade turnover has risen 14.9% in Azerbaijan in January-June of 2008, as compared to the same period of the last year, making up 4,956,600,000, said a source from the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.
Of all consumer goods, foodstuffs made AZN 3,224,300,000, other goods AZN 1,732,300,000. These figures have risen 10.3% and 27.1% respectively as compared to the same period of 2007.
15.6% of retail trade turnover was formed by legal entities, 45.6% by individuals, conducting activity at the fairs and markets, 38.8% by private entrepreneurship without a status of a legal entity.
Through the reported period the population was provided with services in the amount of AZN 1,423,100,000 which is up 29.5%. legal entities made for 79.3% services and individuals for 20.7%. The rise in these indicators as compared to the same period of 2007 made 36.5 and 8,1% respectively.
