Azerbaijan U18 women’s basketball team defeats Estonia at European Championship

Azerbaijan’s U18 women’s national basketball team has secured its second victory at the European Championship Division B in Romania, AzerNEWS reports.

Azerbaijan faced Estonia in a placement game for 17th–20th place and won the match 74–71.

The Azerbaijani team will play its next game against Norway tomorrow.

Azerbaijan previously suffered four consecutive defeats in the group stage, losing to Romania 55–81, Portugal 52–90, the Netherlands 72–79 and Iceland 74–77.

The team then began the placement stage with a 75–73 victory over North Macedonia before securing another win against Estonia.

Azerbaijan will now look to finish the tournament on a positive note in its final placement match against Norway.
