PSG pins Thiago until 2018

PSG has renewed Thiago Silva's contract with the club until 2018, with a €2 million pay rise which will see the player earn a total of €12 million per season, 'L'Équipe' reports.

The agreement was sealed on Saturday, after Barcelona had tried to tempt the player away. PSG managed to convince Silva to stay in Paris next season, perhaps until his contract expires, and possibly even until he hangs up his boots, the newspaper went on to claim.

PSG's Qatari owners still have to strike a deal with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who currently earns €14 million a year and may receive a raise to €15-16 million, states the French media outlet.
