Drug smugglers detained

The Azerbaijani State Border Service (SBS) prevented two cases of drug smuggling from Iran to Azerbaijan, Chief of SBS Investigation and Inquiry Office, Justice Colonel Azer Ibrahimov said at the briefing held today.

Two trespassers, who illegally crossed the Iran-Azerbaijan border in the territory of Bilasuvar region, were detained as a result of operational measures. They are – citizen of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Aghai Sasi Sattar, born in 1973, and citizen of Azerbaijan, born in 1959.  1 kg heroin and many psychotropic substances, which they brought to Azerbaijan for the purpose of sale, were found near them.

Besides, 20 g heroin was found on resident of Agstara region, Ibrahimov Ruslan Gulagha, born in 1985, as a result of search in Astara border checkpoint. The criminal case was launched into the above-mentioned facts and the operational and investigational measures are being continued.
