Special groups may appear in Caspian littoral countries

Iran proposed to establish special groups to stop illegal fishing in the Caspian littoral countries. Iran established groups to combat those who are engaged in illegal fishing, the head of the Iran Fisheries Organisation Shilat Ali Askar Mujahideen reported.

He said that these groups established under Shilat combat illegal fishing in the country. The groups were able to cooperate with law enforcement bodies and organize the effective activity, Modjahedi said. He expressed hope to create these groups in other Caspian littoral countries. He added that fishing has recently decreased by 90 percent. The moratorium on sturgeon fishing in the Caspian Sea will create conditions to increase their number, he said.
