
The Cybernetics Institute under the Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) will set new stations allowing to predict abnormal seismic processes, Trend reports. These stations will be set in areas of the Naftalan and Siyazanneft Oil and Gas Production Units.
Such stations were installed on the Gum island in the Caspian Sea in May 2010 and in the oil well owned by Shirvan OIL in the Shirvan region in October 2011. The current stations will be the third and the fourth. Experiments conducted on the Gum island and the Shirvan region, showed that the new stations are able to fix the abnormal seismic processes for 15-20 hours before the standard seismic stations.
