New subway to appear in Baku – PHOTOS

Construction work is underway close to the Memar Ajami subway metro station today. The surrounding area was fenced. Baku Metro Spokesman Nazakat Tariverdiyeva said construction of the Memar Ajami-2 station was launched in the fenced area.  Today, workers lay new tunnels.. The commissioning of these stations are scheduled for late 2013."

Moreover, Baku Metro plans to commission the metro stations of Kohne Guneshli and Yeni Guneshli by 2015. Based on the Baku Metro development plan the number of lines will be increased to 5, number of stations will increase to 76 and total length of subway lines will reach 119 km by 2030.
