November 2011- cleanest month in Baku and Sumgait

Based on the air monitoring results, November 2011 was announced the most auspicious month in Baku and Sumgait for the last five years, Deputy Director of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry’s National Environmental Monitoring Department Matanat Avazova said. She said the average level of air pollution in Baku and Sumgait did not exceed the marginal rate in November, except few days. 

"Calm weather conditions were observed in the first and second half of November.  However, although the levels of certain components, contaminants exceeded the marginal rate on those days, in general, the degree of air pollution did not exceed the marginal rate."

She said the degree of air cleanliness in Baku and Sumgait depends on meteorological conditions. This month was a great amount of precipitation and it cleaned the air.
