Azerbaijan’s residents will observe total lunar eclipse

Azerbaijan’s residents will be able to observe a lunar eclipse if there is a fair weather, Director of the N.Tusi Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory Eyyub Guliyev said.  The lunar eclipse will begin at 17:57 on Saturday and continue for 1.5 hours, he said. In the interval of 18:00 - 19:00 - for 50 minutes the total lunar eclipse will be visible.

Guliyev said lunar eclipse occurred for two-three times a year.  The first lunar eclipse in 2011 occurred on June 15. A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth passes between the sun and the moon, throwing the moon into shadow. The lunar eclipse does not affect health and mood of the people.
