
Over 2.2 million square meters of Azerbaijani territory was cleared of mines and unexploded ammunition in November, the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) said. As a result of operations 345 unexploded ammunition, 8 antitank and 1 antipersonnel mine were neutralized.
Some 480 experts participated and 120 assistants, as well as the six mechanical demining machines and 32 mine-detection dogs participated in the operations. So far the agency cleared 178.5 million square meters of land, found and neutralized 664,662 mines and unexploded ammunition.
ANAMA operates in Agdam, Agjabadi, Agstafa, Geranboy, Tartar, Fuzuli, Ganja regions, Guzdek settelement in the Garadag district of Baku and the territory of mud volcanoes Girdag in Absheron district. In November, one mine and ammunition exploded. The agency continues its operations.
