Azerbaijan ups investing in nanotechnologies

Azerbaijan increases a volume of investments in development of nanotechnologies, said rector of Baku State University, academician Abel Maharramov at the international conference “CIS: partnership in innovations”.

He said the Baku State University made a heavy contribution to development of nanotechnologies in Azerbaijan. Mr. Maharramov said agreements on nanotechnologies between BSU and Universities of Romania were signed during an official visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Bucharest in 2004. He also underlined BSU and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan apply nanotechnologies in oil production sector.

The conference is supported by CIS International Innovation Center of Nanotechnologies, Institute of Nuclear Studies, CIS Humanitarian Cooperation Foundation and Baku State University. Aim of the conference is to create opportunities for dialogue among the leading innovation companies and scientific centers of CIS.
