
Some 118 drugstores were inspected in the republic within 11 months of 2011. It was found out that 37 drugstores have license, 67 drugstores are functioning under the Union of Pharmacy and Medical Industry and 14 drugstores are illegal, the Health Ministry reported.
Protocols were drawn up on article 64.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences with regard to 7 unlicensed drugstores, which failed to voluntarily stop their activity. Some 1,210 series (6040 boxes) of medicines having no certificate of quality, 14 boxes of expired medicines were confiscated during the raids.
The Analytical Examination Department of the Center for Analytical Examination of the Medicines examined 24,264 series of medicines imported to the country. Roughly 762 kinds of medicines were registered. There are 3,652 kinds of medicines in the Public Register, permission has been given for their import and usage.
