37-year-old woman pours petrol all over herself and sets herself alight in Azerbaijan’s capital

A woman committed suicide in Baku, Surakhany district police office said.

It happened in apt. 1, Khanlar Alakbarov street at 16.00. Gerasimova Mariya Aleksandrovna, 37, poured petrol all over herself and set herself alight in the bathroom. The fire was not prevented, as there was nobody in the house. When the neighbors heard her voice and came, she had died.

The police said the causes of the suicide are not known. Gerasimova had reportedly suffered from leukemia.

Surakhany district prosecutor’s office has launched criminal case on the fact, investigation is underway.
