Discounts can be applied to tourist groups in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Ministry appealed to the appropriate agencies to apply discounts for services to groups of tourists coming to Azerbaijan, Mahir Gahramanov, head of domestic tourism sector of the Culture and Tourism Ministry said on Friday. He said at present these proposals are being studied.

The essence of the proposal is to make discounts for services to tourist groups arriving in Azerbaijan directly by CJSC Azerbaijan Airlines aircraft from priority countries.

"The current tariffs correspond to the market. However, we want discounts to be applied at least to groups of tourists. This practice exists in many countries," Mr Gahramanov said.
He said the Ministry's proposals do not indicate specific figures of discounts offered.

"Discounts to be applied depending on what we want to charge. These prices must also reflect the market," Mr Gahramanov said, adding that the proposals are aimed at increasing the number of tourists arriving in the country.
