750-year old tree falls in Azerbaijan

750-years old Eastern plane-tree, protected as a historical monument in Zagatala region of Azerbaijan, falls.

The incident was caused by heavy rain the region. The strong wind and snow rooted away the tree. Though the catering facility near the tree was damaged, nobody was injured.

Diameter of the 750-years old tree is 380sm, height – 35 meters. Eastern plane-tree, which is one of the numerically insignificant rare types of tree, was included to Azerbaijan’s “Red book”.
