Azeri delegation attends 37th International Association for Educational Assessment (IAEA) Annual Conference

A delegation of Azerbaijan`s State Student Admission Commission (SSAC) has attended the37th International Association for Educational Assessment (IAEA) Annual Conference in Manila, Philippines. Azerbaijan`s delegation included Natig Aliyev, a senior official at SSAC, and the commission`s senior advisers Samira Hasanzade, Suraya Jafarova and Cavanshir Orujov.
The Azeri delegation made two reports at the conference.

The IAEA Annual Conference is recognized as a major event in assessment, bringing together leading assessment and education experts and providers of examinations from around the world. It provides a forum for participants to share professional expertise and strengthen mutual understanding and relationships. The theme of IAEA 2011 is Assessment and the Challenge of Globalization. The conference featured 3 sessions: Developing and Assessing Knowledge and Skills across Diverse Groups and Settings; Investigating Theory, Practice, and Impact in Local and International Assessments; and Creating Pathways to Global Educational Opportunities through Standards, Accreditation and Assessments.

Keynote speakers at the conference included Robert Sternberg, Provost and Senior Vice President Oklahoma State University, and Andreas Schleicher, Head of the Education Indicators and Analysis Division, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
