Accident on Azerbaijani oil platform kills two people

Two people died as a result of an accident on the "Guneshli" field, developed by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), official website of SOCAR reports on Monday.

The accident took place on the "Gunashli-3" offshore platform on Oct.29. During workover in the well an accident (details not disclosed) took place, which killed boring master Nemat Gozalov and assistant boring master Fikret Gaziyev.

According to the report, workover is a daily production process, and all employees of the company are well aware of the safety rules to be followed during the repair work.

Preliminary investigation showed that the company's all employees, involved in workover, including Gozalov and Gaziyev, used appropriate safeguarding means.
