"Poverty level decreased by 500% in Azerbaijan during the past 10 years"

Poverty level in Azerbaijan decreased by 500% or 5 times during past 10 years, said the Deputy Minister of Economic Development Niyazi Safarov.

According to him, the poverty level is 9.1% in 2010, while it was 49% in 2011. He noted that, the economy rose 300 times , industrial production – 300 times, budget expenditure – 20 times, +950,000 work places were launched, pensions rose 40% during 8 years.

Population incomes increased by 4.5 times, average monthly salary – by 4.3 times, population deposits – by 12 times.

+40,000 were opened, during the same period.
