
The 6th Azerbaijani Youth Forum will be held in Heydar Aliyev Palace on October 25. Spokesperson for the Ministry of Youth and Sport Samaya Mammadova said that 2000 young people will attend the forum organized by the ministry.
State officials, representatives of international humanitarian organizations, rectors of higher schools, parliamentarians and other officials will attend the forum.
The first Azerbaijani Youth Forum was held on the initiative of Heydar Aliyev on February 2, 1996. On February 1, 1997, Heydar Aliyev received a group of young people on the occasion of the anniversary of the forum and issued a decree to mark February 2 as the Day of the Azerbaijani Youth. The forum holds a special place in the modern socio-political history of Azerbaijan, has given an impetus to the state’s strategy on the all-round development of the young generation. Five forums of the Azerbaijani youth have been held up to now.
The forums were held in 1999, 2003, 2005 and 2008.
Tasks and obligations of the nongovernmental youth organizations, socio-political activeness of the youth, social problems of the students, the quality of education, prospects of young scientists, problems and new projects of the creative and talented youth, involvement of the youth in the management, implementation of new projects for the young people studying abroad, international cooperation and other important issues will be discussed during the forum.
