Gerard Depardieu tours Azerbaijan's Gabala region

The actor visited the piano manufacturing factory "Beltman" and learned about the production process. Depardieu was told here that development of industry, in particular non-oil sector is in spotlight in Azerbaijan. From this perspective, new manufacturing facilities have opened along with the traditional production areas.

Depardieu later visited Gabala Cannery owned by Gilan Holding. The guest was informed that the factory is located in an area of 12 hectares and is unique in the Caucasus for its capacity and level of technological equipment. Manufacturing covers all processes, from receiving raw materials to packaging of finished products which are exported to more than 30 countries.

Afterwards, the French actor visited the Albanian church in the Nij village to learn that fundamentally renovated the temple is protected as a cultural monument of local importance.

Depardieu also toured around "Qafqaz Resorte" and "Qafqaz Riverside" hotels as well as "Qafqaz Ganclik" recreation center and noted that “these beautiful places are quite suitable for a rest.”

The French actor got a carpet as a gift in the region.
