Russian and Turkish embassies informed about TV channels closure

"Russian and Turkish embassies are informed of the closure of Turkish TV channel Samanyolu (STV) and Russian channels RTR-Planeta and ORT. Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry informed the National Television and Radio Council about it," NTRC chief Nushiravan Maharamli told the APA.

He said as the opposite sides are informed, this issue is legal.

According to the existing agreement, in case a decision on closure of foreign channels is made, they should be informed 6 months in advance.
