Editors-in-chief did not reach agreement on price rises

The editors-in-chief could not reach an agreement on the rise of newspaper prices.

The decision was not taken because some editors-in-chief did not raise the prices, Editor-in-chief of Gundelik Azerbaijan and Realniy Azerbaijan Eynulla Fatullayev told, according to APA.

"I suggested that if the prices are raised, all the newspapers should join this decision. It is not right to take this step separately," he said.

He also said he hopes that the prices for energy deliveries will reduce. Therefore he intends to wait for 10 days.

The editor-in-chief said if the prices are not reduced, he will raise the prices for his newspaper.

Editor-in-chief of Yeni Musavat newspaper Azer Aykhan also said that the decision was not made because some editors-in-chief hesitate. He said if not all the newspapers raise the prices, the editions of the papers raised their prices will reduce. He said the editors-in-chief will continue discussions.

Editor-in-chief of Azadliq newspaper Ganimat Zahid said he did not participate in the discussions at all.

He said he will participate in the further discussions and the decision will be taken after the paper distributors and editors-in-chief meet.
