Education Minister holds press conference

Minister of Education Misir Mardanov held the conference on November 27, dedicated to his participation at the third Islamic conference of Ministers of Education held in Kuwait.

The Minister underlined that the conference focused on the cooperation with Islamic countries in the field of education and sciences, as well as scientific and research works, financing respective sectors from State Budget and other issues of mutual concern.

In his speech, Azerbaijani Minister stressed Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's special attention to cooperation with Islamic countries, spoke of the today's situation in the country's educational system, reforms implemented, as well as negative impact of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on the development of this sector and other issues.

During the conference, the Azerbaijani Minister met with ISESCO General Director, Education Ministers of Kuwait, Afghanistan, Malaysia and other countries to discuss bilateral relations.

Azerbaijani Minister's proposal on conducting traditional conference of Education Ministers of Islamic Countries once every two years was highly appreciated by the participants. Conference participants decided to conduct the next conference of Education Ministers of Islamic countries in Baku in 2008. AzerTAg
