11 die in road collision

The collision occurred about 125 kilometers (some 80 miles) west of the Azerbaijani capital Baku as the bus was heading to the town of Evlakh, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.

Seven passengers were killed on the spot, while others died later of injuries. Those who died included a 2-year old baby, the ministry said. Five of those who were injured are in grave condition, it said.

The cause of the collision was not immediately clear, it said, adding that the truck driver, who survived the collision, was being interrogated.
