Meeting on NATO two projects held in Baku

Within NATO Science Program, XXI meeting of Virtual Silk Way and opening of II meeting of OCCASION project has been held in Baku.

Communications and information technologies minister Ali Abbasov said at the meeting that representatives from Associations of Virtual Silk Way and OCCASION project participant countries such as Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia and representatives from Great Britain, Germany, Belgium Poland attend the meeting.

Issues on implementation of the two projects will be discussed at the meeting.

Meeting of Virtual Silk Way and OCCASION project users’ groups will also be held.

The Minister also said that the project Virtual Silk Way covers Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia and Armenia.

The aim of the projects is to connect National Scientific-Research and Education Network of Central Asian and Southern Caucasian countries to high-speed Internet of Europe via satellite technologies.

The project ill enable these countries to exchange information on education and science.

Within this project unimpeded high-speed internet system will be set up among Azerbaijani science-education structures.

One of the main aims of the project is to build up a cooperation potential between Virtual Silk Way countries and EU experts.

Within OCCASION project training are planned to be held in every participant country in order to ease use of new potential, APA reports.
