Baku metro to open new stations

The Baku metro plans to commission five new stations by 2016, its website said.

The bus station and Memar Ajami-2 will be commissioned by mid-2014, and Azi Aslanov-2, Kohna Guneshli and Teza Guneshli by 2016.

The length of the metro lines is 34.6 kilometers. The metro has two lines. The number of lines will increase to five in the future, the length to 119 kilometers, and the number of stations to 76.

The metro has been operating since 1967 and has 23 stations. A 20-year program for the development of the metro was adopted.
