Maternal and infant mortality level drops

Last year, in Azerbaijan the mortality rate of children under one year was 11.0 per mille per 1,000 healthy children,  the report on the activities of the Cabinet in 2011 reads.

In 2003,  the figure was 15.6 per 1,000. Azerbaijan has also reduced the level of maternal mortality. The figure is now 15.3 per mille per 10,000 people. About 176.100 children were born in Azerbaijan in 2011.
