Grandiose Zoo will be built in Azerbaijan

A zoo to be built in Azerbaijan maybe granted a new place rather than a territory in the Gobu village, the deputy director of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry’s Department for protection of  biological diversity and development of specially protected natural areas, Hikmet Alizade, said.

He said the climatic and geographic conditions, topography, infrastructure in Gobu is unfavorable for a zoo, so it was proposed to build a zoo in the Absheron district.

“The area in the Absheron district has enough water and green resources. After all, the zoo will include animals from all continents, and the right place should be chosen for them,” he noted.
 
The relevant structures already made decision on the establishment of the zoo in the Absheron region, terrain and climatic conditions which are more favorable, and now the Cabinet is expected to make a decision on this issue.  According to the project, the area of the park will be 55 acres, Alizade said.

Experienced professionals who created similar parks, zoos in Dubai, Singapore and the Czech Republic will be involved in the project.  He said this will be the most modern zoo, whose project was drafted by joint Turkish-German company.
