London Arbitration Court to examine Georgia’s lawsuit against Israelis

The London Arbitrary Court on November 30 will begin to examine Georgian Government's lawsuit against Israeli businessmen jailed in Georgia. The Georgian side demands to annul the Arbitration Court's decision favoring Israeli businessmen Ronny Fux and Zeev Frenkel and demanding they be paid a $100 million forfeit.

Attending the court's examination will be Ronny Fux, who is jailed as he is charged with an attempt of giving bribe to an executive official. He will be linked to the London Court by video-bridge from the Office of Georgia's Popular Defense Lawyer. The Arbitration Court will spend a week to examine Georgia's appeal.

In addition, Archil Kbilashvili, the defense lawyer of Israeli businessmen, reported today that the Government of Georgia once filed another lawsuit to the London Court on the occasion of the case won by his clients. Its examination will begin only if the Arbitrary Court does not satisfy the first one.

"In its second lawsuit, the Georgian side claims the London Arbitrary Court was not empowered to make decision favoring the Israeli businessmen so the decision envisioning payment of $100 million to them should be annulled. The second lawsuit will be examined only if the Court (next spring or summer) does not satisfy the first lawsuit and leaves its decision in force," Kbilashvili said.
