Zaza Gorozia has been appointed Georgian Agriculture Minister. He replaced Bakur Kvezereli on this post, Prime Minister Nika Gilauri told journalists on Thursday. He thanked Kvezereli for his merits as a minister, especially for introducing hybrid corn and U.S. wheat last year. Wheat and corn yield rose in 2-3 times.
"Kvezereli remains in the government team, but his future work will become known later," Gilauri said. He said Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region's governor Zaza Gorozia has been appointed as agriculture minister.
"We are confident that Gorozia will prove himself in his new post, especially as he is working in Samegrelo for 6 years and showed himself well there, and now we expects new energy and new ideas from him, and we once again stress that agriculture remains a priority of our activity," Gilauri said.
It is still unknown who will replace Gorozia as a governor.
