Iran to issue indictment against U.S.

20 October 2011 [16:23] - TODAY.AZ
Iranian Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani ordered Iran's chief prosecutor, Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei to appoint one of his deputies to issue an indictment against the United States, IRIB reported.

Iran plans to issue an indictment to appeal against the U.S. officials, charging them on "supporting " of the terrorist groups in Iran.

Larijani didn't mention any terrorist group, but Iran has charged U.S. frequently on protesting PJAK and Jondullah. Furthermore, Iranian officials also claim that U.S. and Israel are behind the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists.

PJAK is an offshoot of Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which regularly carries out cross-border raids along Iran's western borders with Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdistan region and Jondullah is an insurgent Sunni Islamic organization based in southeastern Iran that claims to fight for the rights of Sunni Muslims in the country.

Iranian intelligence and security officials have repeatedly complained that Washington provides military support and logistical aids for such anti-Iran terrorist groups. But the U.S. repeatedly refused these accusations saying the U.S. Treasury Department included PJAK into the list of terrorist groups in February 2009 and imposed financial sanctions against it.

Two Iranian nuclear scientists have been killed, while another could survive the attack over the last two years. Iran charges U.S. and Israel on assassination plot.
