Georgia holds Georgia-EU cooperation subcommittee meeting

The Georgian Foreign Ministry is hosting the 10th meeting of the Georgia-EU cooperation subcommittee on economic, trade and legal issues at the expert level.

European Integration Department Director Tea Akhvlediani chairs the meeting from the Georgian side. Chief of the Directorate General Department of the European Trade Commission Luc Pierre Devigne chairs the meeting from the European side, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.

The representatives of the relevant ministries from Georgia, the European Commission, the European External Action Service and the EU delegation in Georgia attended the meeting.

The sides discussed reforms implemented by the government and activities conducted in economy and trade, including macroeconomic development, investments and cooperation in tax and customs administration.

Particular attention was paid to topics related to the free trade agreement with the EU. The EU welcomed the reforms made by Georgia in different fields. The parties also discussed further activities and the EU's support through aid programs.
