04 May 2011 [09:23] - TODAY.AZ
President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite arrived from Baku in Georgia on her first official visit. In Tbilisi's international airport, she was met by Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze.

The official welcoming ceremony will be held at the Presidential Palace at 16:30 Tbilisi time, after which the heads of state will visit the Heroes' Square to attend the ceremony of laying wreaths at the memorial of those killed in the battles for the territorial integrity, a source at the Georgian Presidential Administration said.

This visit is a continuation of the traditional friendly relations between the two countries, Georgian President's spokesperson Manana Manjgaladze said today. "We remember well the support of Lithuania in the hard days and moments in the recent history of Georgia," she said.

She said during the talks, the presidents will touch upon all bilateral issues, including political, trade and economic topics, as well as the issue of security in the region. Briefing by the presidents is not planned.

Tomorrow Grybauskaite will leave for Yerevan.
