U.S congressman: Georgia becomes the first country that most contributes to Afghan mission

Georgia becomes the first country that contributes most to the Afghan mission, per capita, U.S. congressional delegation head David Price said in Tbilisi after the meeting with Georgian Parliamentary Speaker David Bakradze.

According to him, "the U.S is grateful to Georgia for its contribution to the mission in Iraq and Afghanistan."

Bakradze said it is very important to maintain those relations that tie the Georgian Parliament and the U.S. Congress and develop them. According to him, the U.S. delegation is in Georgia within the framework of "Partnership for Democracy".

Regarding the issues that the sides discussed, he said they focused on the matters under the program, as well as touched upon all important matters in the Georgian-American relations, including democratic reform, national security, the Georgian-Russian relations and Georgia's participation in peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan.
