26 March 2010 [11:35] - TODAY.AZ
Turkish Interior Minister Besir Atalay said on Thursday that the visit of Russian Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev to Turkey would "contribute to relations as well as security cooperation" between Turkey and Russia.

Atalay and Nurgaliyev held a tete-a-tete meeting and then co-chaired the meetings between Turkish and Russian delegations in Ankara.

Atalay said that Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev would visit Turkey on May 10.

Noting that infrastructure studies for cooperation between the two countries were underway, Atalay said that those activities would be completed with the visit of Medvedev, and a number of agreements would be signed.

Atalay said that Black Sea was a common sea of Turkey and Russia, adding that coast guards of the two countries were strongly cooperating in the Black Sea.

Atalay also said that Russia was the second biggest foreign trade partner of Turkey, adding that Turkey was on the first place for Russia in contracting services sector.

He noted that "fight against terrorism" was also an important area of cooperation for Turkey and Russia.
