Georgia's opposition party rallies outside Foreign Ministry

The members of the youth wing of the Alliance for Georgia organized a protest rally outside the Foreign Ministry of Georgia, when President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Joao Soares appeared outside the building.

The OSCE PA President talked with the protestors and learnt their demands.

The protestors called upon the OSCE to provide unbiased and democratic conduct of the self-government elections in Georgia.

The OSCE is the chief observer at the elections, which will be held on May 30, 2010.

Mr. Soares said he would discuss the issues related to conduct of elections at the meetings with Georgian authorities.

After having talked with the protestors, Mr. Soares held meeting with the Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksandre Nalbandov, discussing situation in Georgia's break-away Abkhazia and South Ossetia regions.

OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President said the organization was still working on the resumption of its mission in Georgia.
